FAQ

What is Fetch Internet?

Fetch Internet is an app for your Android Smartphone that lets you use your Android’s Internet access on your Mac and Windows computer.

Can’t I just use a Hotspot?

Yep, you sure can. But did you know that all you need for blazing fast Internet is Fetch Internet? Why pay hundreds of dollars a year for a Hotspot with limited bandwidth and data, when you can download Fetch Internet and pay only once for the app download fee?

Can’t I just connect my computer or laptop to public WiFi?

Yep, you sure can. However, doing so opens your computer to potential security vulnerabilities from potential hackers. Using Fetch Internet instead of public WiFi is a much more secure alternative.

I never connect my computer to public WiFi because I have confidential information on my computer. I used to use my computer’s Ethernet port, but it broke. Can I use Fetch Internet instead of buying an external USB-to-Ethernet port adapter?

Yep, Fetch is an efficient and inexpensive alternative for those with computers that have malfunctioning or broken WiFi adapters.

My work computer doesn’t even have an Ethernet port in it. Can I use Fetch Internet?

Yep, you sure can. Instead of purchasing expensive and bulky external hardware adapters, consider using Fetch Internet as a convenient and inexpensive alternative!

How long should it take me to set up Fetch?

Simply connect your Android to your computer using a charging cable to enable Internet access after installing Fetch Connect, the (free) computer companion app for Fetch Internet. Setup takes less than one minute.

I already downloaded the Fetch Internet app to my Android. Now what am I supposed to do?

After downloading Fetch Internet, download Fetch Connect, the free Fetch companion application for your computer, and then install Fetch Connect on your computer. Follow the simple, guided tutorial on your Android and you’ll be all set.

I already went through the tutorial though and I can’t find it. How do I get the tutorial back?

Tap on the Connect tab (bottom right of the Fetch app) and then look toward the middle-bottom of Android screen, and you’ll see “Replay setup tutorial” in grey lettering. Just tap on that text, and it will take you back to the tutorial.

Can I use Fetch on an Android tablet?

Yep, Fetch Internet will work on your tablet just as well as it does on your smartphone. If you don’t see Fetch Internet working on your tablet, it may mean that we don’t yet support that tablet. If this happens, simply contact us and we’ll add the appropriate driver to enable support for your device.

Is Fetch Internet an ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

Nope. Fetch Internet is not an Internet provider. Fetch Internet is a productivity app that enables you to use your smartphone’s Internet access on your computer.

How good is the Internet access provided through the Fetch Internet app?

Your computer’s Internet access will only be as strong as that of the smartphone with which you are using Fetch Internet. Meaning, if your smartphone has no Internet access, neither will your computer (through Fetch Internet).
